The Haywire Heart

I finished the book, “The Haywire Heart” by Case, Mandrola and Zinn over breakfast today.  An excellent but worrying read.  In the chapter identifying risk factors, they identified the focused athlete as one who would train for a marathon, whereas the obsessed and at-risk athlete would ride to marathons, compete and then ride back.  If you cut it down to half marathons and add an evening game of squash and daily trips to the gym in there; that was me in the 90s.
